1.Workshop on Emphasising skills on 01/07/2022

            Nirmala College of Arts and Science conducted a Workshop on Emphasising skills on 01/07/2022 in the Seminar Hall at 10.00 AM. By focusing on practical strategies and personal development, the event not only enhanced participants' capabilities but also fostered a supportive and skilled community within the college. The positive outcomes of the event underscored its value in promoting student success, resilience, and well-being, reinforcing the importance of  building initiatives in educational settings.

 

2. Tactics For Self Motivation And Emotion Control on 18 /10/2022 

Nirmala College of Arts and Science has undertaken an activity  in the name Tactics For Self Motivation And Emotion  Control piloted by Ms. Sumy Joy V. The "Tactics for Self Motivation and Emotion Control" activity led by Mr. Joseph Annamkutty Jose was highly beneficial in equipping students with essential skills for personal and academic success. By focusing on practical strategies and hands-on learning, the event empowered participants to cultivate self-motivation, regulate emotions effectively, and enhance their overall resilience. The positive outcomes underscored the value of such initiatives in promoting student well-being, success, and personal growth within the college community.

 

3.Orientation on  Laws for Employees on 28/10/2022

Nirmala College of Arts and Science conducted an Orientation on  Laws for Employees  by Adv. Roger Varghese proved to be highly informative and engaging. It successfully achieved its objective of educating students about essential employment laws and empowering them with the knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of the modern workplace. Students from various departments participated.  It was a successful event.

Life skills

1.Training on Importance of Yoga in Our Daily life, on 13/07/2022

A Programme named” Training on Importance of Yoga in Our Daily Life” was organised for the students on 13/07/2022 at 10 am in the Seminar Hall. The session was headed by Ms. Limy Sam (Yoga Trainer). Yoga can support the healing process and help the person experience symptoms with more centeredness and less distress. People practice yoga for spiritual, health, and meditative benefits. A combination of different postures or Asana forms the essence of yoga. It is associated with the meditation of the body and mind through the relaxation of the body. The class included gaming and practice sessions on meditation. The students participated very well. The activity is conducted for students as batches.

2.Fitness Training Program, on 29/08/2022

The Fitness Training Program organised for students on 29/08/2022 at 11.00 am in the college ground was spearheaded by Mr. Sujith, a dedicated Sports Trainer. The event encompassed a series of rigorous exercises including push-ups, planks, and burpees, designed to test participants' strength, endurance, and overall fitness levels. More than just a physical test, the challenge aimed to foster a supportive and motivating environment where students could push their limits and surpass personal goals. Engaging in such challenges not only enhances physical fitness but also cultivates mental resilience and determination. Participants embraced the opportunity to showcase their hard work and dedication, celebrating the progress they had made through dedicated training and preparation.

3.Seminar on Diet Plan in Youth, on 17/11/2022

 Department of Food Technology, organised a Seminar on Diet Plan in Youth on 17 November 2022 at 11 am in the College Auditorium. Dr. P B Pushpalatha (former Registrar, KAU ) inaugurated the event in the presence of Mrs. Sija Paul ( Hygiene and Safety Manager, Wyndham Group), Mrs. Daly Sajeev ( Chairperson, Nirmala Group of Institution), Prof. Murukan Babu C R ( Principal, Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Chalakudy) and Dr. Rahul Cyriac ( Head of the Department , Food Technology). Dr.  P B Pushpalatha guided the students to create a diet clinic which would be helpful for students and teachers to assess their daily nutrition needs and how to check the current health status. She did a presentation on various health parameters that are assessed in the clinic and their significance in daily life. Diet clinic, led by Dr. P B Pushpalatha checked various health parameters such as BMI, BMR, bone mass,body fat, protein mass, muscle mass, body water, metabolic age, height, body weight, visceral fat, subcutaneous fat, weight without fat, obesity level, pressure, temperature, pulse, oxygen level etc with the help of students by guiding them how to do it and gave health advices accordingly.

4.Step with  Zumba - Training on zumba, on 25/11/2022        

Step with  Zumba - Training on Zumba Programme was enthusiastically organised for students on 25/11/2022 at 10:00 am in the Auditorium, led by the energetic Mr. Sujith A S. Zumba, a dynamic fitness program combining cardio with Latin-inspired dance moves, proved to be a fun and effective way to engage multiple muscle groups simultaneously, promoting overall body toning and flexibility. Beyond its physical benefits, Zumba also offers significant cardiovascular advantages, boosting heart health and enhancing respiratory function through its vigorous aerobic and anaerobic routines. The session provided students with a vibrant platform to release stress and uplift their spirits through rhythmic movement and music. Participants actively embraced the lively atmosphere, showcasing their enthusiasm and commitment to fitness. The event concluded with a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie among students, highlighting the positive impact of Zumba in fostering both physical fitness and mental well-being.

5.Training on Chair Yoga, on 20/03/2023        

A Training on Chair Yoga Programme was organised for the students on 20/03/2023 at 10.00 am in the Auditorium. The session was headed by Mr. Sharan K S (Yoga Trainer). Most of the time people work by sitting. So posture correction and relaxation is needed from time to time. For this Chair Yoga is used.  The art of practising yoga helps in controlling an individual's mind, body and soul. It brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind; it helps manage stress and anxiety and keeps you relaxing. It also helps in increasing flexibility, muscle strength and body tone. The class included gaming and practice sessions on meditation. The students participated very well.

Language and communication skills

1.Workshop on Book Reviewing held on 13/06/2022

Nirmala College of Arts and Science conducted an activity called Workshop on Book Reviewing by Dr. Shyam Manmadhan on 13th June 2022 at 10.00 am at seminar hall. It was a resounding success in promoting the joys of reading and expanding student's literary horizons. The event not only encouraged active engagement with books but also fostered a vibrant literary community within the college. This event served as a testament to the power of literature in enriching lives and shaping perspectives, leaving a lasting impact on all those who participated. Students were given some books to read prior to this event and they gave the reviews as written to the resource person. Mr. Shyam also gave the class to the students on how to write reviews. This helped their writing capability in English language. Finally, a quiz was conducted based on the books, and the winner was awarded a prize.

2.SEMINAR ON IMPROVING WRITING SKILLS HELD ON 29/08/2022

Nirmala College of Arts and Science, conducted a Seminar on Improving Writing Skills to inculcate writing skills of the students. The activity was conducted on 29  August 2022 at 10 am in room no. C-F4. It provided a valuable opportunity for students to develop essential writing and communication skills in a dynamic and engaging environment. Participants gained valuable experience in crafting compelling stories, enhancing their communication skills and preparing them for future academic and professional endeavours where effective storytelling is essential. The activity underscored the importance of spontaneity and structure in writing, encouraging students to approach narrative composition with confidence and creativity.

3.Workshop on Business Communication  21/12/2022

Nirmala College of Arts & Science conducted a Workshop on Business Communication on 21 December 2022 at 10.00 am in the seminar hall, Mr. Sabith Salam, serving as the external judge. Students from various departments participated. The event underscored the importance of clear, concise, and professional communication as a cornerstone of success in careers and organisational interactions, preparing students to navigate communication challenges with confidence and competence.

Computing Skills

1.WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL MARKETING 11/07/2022

The Department of Computer Science organised a comprehensive Workshop on Digital Marketing on 11/07/2022 at 10 am in the College Auditorium, catering specifically to students from Nirmala College of Arts and Science. Led by Mr. William Chacko, a seasoned expert in the field, the workshop aimed to provide students with a deep understanding of the tools, strategies, and techniques essential for effective digital marketing campaigns. In today's interconnected world, digital marketing plays a pivotal role in reaching and engaging target audiences across various online platforms. The interactive nature of the session facilitated lively discussions and hands-on activities, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical exercises. With 30 students from diverse academic backgrounds participating actively, the workshop fostered a collaborative learning environment where ideas were exchanged and insights shared. Feedback from attendees highlighted the workshop's success in enhancing their understanding of digital marketing principles and preparing them for future professional endeavours in the dynamic digital landscape.

2.WORKSHOP ON IoT 29/08/2022                

The Department of Computer Science hosted an insightful Workshop on IoT (Internet of Things) on 29/08/2022 at 1 pm in the Seminar Hall, attracting students from various batches eager to delve into this cutting-edge technology. The workshop, expertly guided by Mr. Vishnu M J, an experienced embedded developer at RoadE LAB Kakkanad, aimed to demystify the concepts and applications of IoT in today's interconnected world. IoT represents a paradigm shift, enabling devices to communicate and interact seamlessly, revolutionising industries from healthcare to transportation and beyond. With 40 enthusiastic participants, the workshop provided a platform for students to explore IoT's practical implications through hands-on demonstrations and interactive sessions. Attendees gained insights into IoT's role in automation, data analytics, and enhancing operational efficiency across diverse sectors. The workshop concluded with positive feedback from participants, highlighting their newfound understanding and enthusiasm for integrating IoT into their academic and professional pursuits.

3.WORKSHOP ON REACT JS 20/09/2022    

The Department of Computer Science organised a hands-on Workshop on React JS on 20/09/2022 at 9:30 am in the well-equipped computer lab, drawing students from diverse academic backgrounds and batches. The workshop, led by Ms. Tiya Reba Stephen, a knowledgeable ICT Academy officer with extensive experience in developing application software using React JS, aimed to introduce students to this popular JavaScript library for building user interfaces. React JS has gained prominence for its efficiency in creating interactive web applications with reusable components, making it a valuable skill in today's software development landscape. With 39 eager participants, the workshop provided a practical platform for students to explore React JS through guided tutorials, coding exercises, and real-world examples. The workshop also emphasised the importance of responsive web design and user experience, equipping students with essential skills for designing modern and engaging web interfaces.

4.WORKSHOP ON ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION 06/03/2023 

    

The Department of Computer Science conducted a Workshop on Robotic Process Automation on 06/03/2023  from 09.30 AM to 4.00 PM in the computer lab.The workshop was guided by Mr. Gopu Darshan. He is the Knowledge Officer at ICT Academy of Kerala. 44 students participated in the workshop. 5.WORKSHOP ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE 07/03/2023     

The Department of Computer Science hosted an intensive Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) on 07/03/2023, spanning from 09:30 AM to 4:00 PM in the well-equipped Computer Lab. This workshop was designed exclusively for students of Nirmala College of Arts and Science, aiming to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of AI's diverse applications across industries. Guided by Ms. Maya Mohan, a knowledgeable Knowledge Officer from ICT Academy of Kerala, the workshop focused on demystifying AI concepts and exploring its practical implications.With enthusiastic participation from 40 students representing various academic disciplines, the workshop delved into foundational AI topics such as machine learning algorithms, neural networks, natural language processing, and computer vision. Ms. Maya Mohan's expertise facilitated engaging discussions and hands-on activities, enabling students to grasp AI's potential to revolutionise fields ranging from healthcare and finance to education and transportation.
