The Department of Commerce is a dream destination for those aspiring to pursue their interest in the disciplines of Commerce, Business and Management. The UG programme in commerce affiliated to the University of Calicut was started in 2015-16. As our world becomes more aware of the benefits from the advancement of computer and technology, courses pertaining to computer technology have easily become one of the most popular fields for students. This is a field that branches out into a number of fascinating areas. The Department offers courses in B.Com with Finance, B.Com with Banking and Insurance and B.Com with Computer Application. In addition, the Department offers various certificate courses in Diploma in Computerised Financial Accounting (DCFA), Logistic Management, Industrial Connector, Goods and Service Tax-Beginner Course (GST, Investment Adviser.
The Department relentlessly strives to perceive and maintain academic excellence at the same time encourages the students to participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. We emphasize on intensive academics through regular classroom teaching, guest lectures and seminars, local industry visits, state-of- art infrastructure, well equipped library, computer lab and personality development sessions. Activities including presentations, interclass seminars, debugging competitions, programming tests, best designer competitions enhance the values of team work, individual and group responsibility. Career guidance and placement cell is an integral part of the department. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection programmes. The cell invites MNCs, various industries and reputed firms for campus recruitment.
