"India, the centre for the textile and garment trade, is also growing into a centre of innovation in garment and accessory design. Fashion technology has a wide scope for choosing a career. The industry has become so specialized that it encompasses a vast field of studies in design, concept management, design production management, quality control, planning, textile design, printing, fashion accessory design, fashion merchandising, textile science, colour mixing, marketing and so on. Fashion is an integral part of our lives, reflecting our moods, culture and environment. It is a multi-billion dollar global enterprise that employs millions of people nationally and internationally in the design, manufacture, distribution, marketing, advertising and retailing of textiles, apparel, costumes and accessories.
The goal of the Fashion Program is to provide students with technical and career skills that allow them to enter the fashion industry with a balance of knowledge, theory, and practical training. We strive to provide students with quality instruction, utilizing current technology and equipment, and relevant curriculum. Much of the emphasis of the program is on active student learning and participation in class and campus activities that involve leadership and planning.
Fashion Industry in India is organic and personalized. It is regionally diverse and multi-layered. Ethnic fashion thrives in India! The living craft and aesthetic is embedded in the rich textile heritage. Thus, many young people who are attracted to these attributes have decided to invade the Fashion Industry. "
The vision is to be the leading institution in fashion, textiles, and design education, for the development of each student, transforming them into multitasking career-focused individuals. Thus creating productive globally-competitive graduates for the garment/textile industry.
