The PG Department of Commerce, Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Meloor, Chalakudy, organized a One-Day Workshop on “Practical Research Data Analysis with SPSS & The Art of Theory Development” on 1st November 2025 (Saturday) at the Computer Lab–1, NCAS Campus.
The programme was inaugurated with a presidential address by Dr. Shaju Ouseph, Principal of Nirmala College of Arts and Science, who emphasized the importance of research and data-driven learning in higher education. Dr. Bindu V, Head of the PG Department of Commerce, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the relevance of SPSS as a vital tool for academic research and publication.
The session was conducted by Dr. Prasanth Kumar M, Founder of Thrive Education & Research Foundation and Vice Principal of Sree Gokulam SNGM Arts & Science College. The workshop aimed to provide participants with hands-on experience in SPSS software for statistical data analysis and to offer valuable insights into theory development in academic research.
More than sixty participants, including research scholars, faculty members from various colleges, our own faculty members and postgraduate students, actively took part in the workshop. The sessions offered a balanced mix of theory and practical application, providing valuable hands-on experience.
Participants and faculty members from other institutions shared positive feedback, appreciating the clarity, depth, and practical usefulness of the workshop. They noted that it provided valuable insights for guiding research projects and preparing academic publications.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Mini M.J., Assistant Professor, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, the resource person, all participants, and organizing members for their support.
Overall, the workshop was informative, interactive, and highly beneficial, helping participants gain practical knowledge in research data analysis and theory development.
