The Post Graduate Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Finance Club, successfully organized a seminar on the topic "Post Office as a Financial Partner: Opportunities in Savings and Digital Banking" on 23rd July 2025. The session was led by Mr. Sreenath K, Senior Manager and District Head of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), Thrissur.
The resource person provided deep insights into the evolving role of the Post Office in the financial sector, highlighting the scope of digital banking, savings schemes, and financial inclusion offered through IPPB. The session was highly interactive and informative, attracting enthusiastic participation from commerce students.
An added highlight of the program was the on-spot savings account opening facility offered by officials from India Post Payments Bank. More than 50 students availed this opportunity and opened their savings accounts, marking a significant step towards financial literacy and inclusion among students.
