World Tourism Day

World Tourism Day

The PG Department of Travel and Tourism Management recently celebrated World Tourism Day, featuring Ms. TD Prabhakumari, Manager of SriLankan Airlines, as the chief guest. The event showcased various art forms and student presentations centered around the theme of World Tourism Day 2024 "Tourism and Peace."

Additionally, the department organized an intercollegiate mapping competition, highlighting tourist attractions and cultural landmarks, and a poster-making contest focused on sustainable tourism. These initiatives aimed to raise awareness about sustainability in the industry and encourage innovative, eco-friendly solutions. The celebration also included a quiz competition for higher secondary students, further engaging the community in tourism education.
